News:
STIHC will no longer offer J&J vaccines Due to concerns about blood clots as well as less efficacy, STIHC will no longer offer J&J COVID vaccines. STIHC will continue with Pfizer and Moderna, which have proven to be more safe and effective. Update on Quarantine for individuals who are Fully Vaccinated Individuals who received their second dose of either Pfizer or Moderna over 6 months ago (or 2 months ago if they received the J&J vaccine) and haven't received a booster shot yet will still need to quarantine if they are exposed to COVID. Household members of active positive COVID cases will need to quarantine regardless of vaccination status. Boosters Boosters are recommended for all individuals 16 and up. Moderna is recommended for adults 18 and older regardless of what vaccine they received previously. Pfizer is the only vaccine approved for booster for ages 16 and 17. Omicron Variant Data so far suggests that the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are effective, and that the common COVID treatments are also effective. The main difference with this new variant is that it is even more transmissible (spreads easily) than the Delta variant. Omicron cases have been reported in Clallam County, however the most common variant is still Delta.
